Installing Vinyl Car Stickers

Applying car stickers or decals can transform a car’s appearance completely. Stickers are commonly used to show support for favourite music or sports team, to advertise a business or simply because the right car vinyls will enhance the appearance of the car.  Similar to a tattoo, car stickers add a bespoke look to your vehicle. Installing and removing car decals properly is essential. Some steps must be followed and if you have installed vinyl decals, you want to keep them looking brand-new for a long time. So whether you have them on the car front or back, keep reading for some tips.

Proper car badge (e.g. holden badge) care begins at the installation process, which means that you’ll clean the surface before even installing it. If you have a dirty surface, the decal will not stick properly, nor last. Use rubbing alcohol, soap or water and a clean cloth to wipe down the area, but avoid ammonia-based cleaning products as these may damage the car when you are trying to install the car vinyl. Ammonia weakens the decal’s adhesive, making it difficult for the black Audi badge (for example) to stick appropriately. Likewise, glass-based products leave behind a residue and don’t allow the decal to stick well. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the packet, or have a professional do it for you.

But if you are an Audi driver, before installing black Audi badges, you must be sure about where they want to stick their decals. Standard location options include the exteriors, interiors, windows and bumpers or side mirror vinyls to lend a personalised look to the car. Though unusual, some people stick their decals on the tyres as well. Stick the decal on the chosen location with electrical tape to check its appearance, and shift the position if you like. Once you have found the right place, install the decal. Peel the paper backing off the sticker and avoid touching the sticky side, as your hands could leave dirt on the decal’s backside.

Place one side of the decal and smoothen it out to the other side until the sticker is adequately placed. Be careful while removing the backing, one-third by one-third, until the decal is completely installed. After applying the stick, trim around the fenders and obstruction with a razor. Mention the tension of the film and puncture the bubbles by squeezing out the air or water. Once you are satisfied with the holden badge, polish the car once to make it look as good as new, take pics of it & get it on Instagram to show it off.
